Q: Do I need an API key or an SMTP key to connect Brevo?

An API key. Brevo offers both, and they aren't interchangeable: SMTP keys only authorize sending mail over SMTP, so contacts, lists, and CRM actions will be rejected. Generate the key from the API Keys tab, not the SMTP tab.

Q: Should I give the API key an expiry date?

When a key expires, every Brevo step in every automation fails until you generate a replacement and paste it into the connection. Choose no expiry, or set a reminder well ahead of the date.

Q: Do I have to create the webhooks in Brevo myself?

No. Switching on an automation with a Brevo trigger registers the webhook in your Brevo account, and switching it off removes it again. There is nothing to add by hand under Brevo's webhook settings.

Q: What is the difference between the marketing and transactional triggers?

Marketing events come from campaigns sent to your lists, transactional events from individual emails sent.

Q: How do I connect OpenAI to Nodest?

Q: Do I need to add credit to my OpenAI account?

Yes. OpenAI's API bills separately from any ChatGPT subscription and needs its own payment method and prepaid balance. A key on an account with no balance is valid but every request fails.
